Leslie Villegas and Jordan Abbott from New America have written a very interesting post, chockful of statistics and charts, headlined English Learner Changes Over the Last 20 Years.
I’m not sure I’ve seen a better snapshot of the ELL population anywhere.
Unfortunately, with the Trump administrations xenophobic policies, we probably can’t extrapolate anything accurately from these past trends. But, as I mentioned, the post does a great job portraying what things look like now.
