Eye test to be conducted for govt school students in Jaipur, ETEducation
Jaipur: Eye tests will be held this month for all students in govt schools of Jaipur district, education department officials said Friday. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Rajasthan School Education Council and Lions Club Jaipur Metro (LCJM) in this regard.
“If any vision issues are detected during the test, students will be provided free spectacles and in serious cases, arrangements will be made for further treatment. Lions Club teams will conduct screening programmes according to the schedule provided by the council, where trained professionals will identify children in need with technical and medical support from various eye hospitals,” said a senior official.
The council will facilitate necessary permissions at the district and block levels, cooperation from schools, availability of venues, and programme monitoring.
“Special emphasis has been laid on ensuring the security of student data in this programme. A joint committee will review the programme, with quarterly reports submitted. This MoU will be effective for three years,” the official added.
