
BHU faculty gets national award, ETEducation
Varanasi: Assistant Professor at BHU‘s department of history of art Kanu Priya was conferred with National Award at the 64th National Exhibition of Art and the 71st Foundation Day celebrations of the Lalit Kala Akademi, in New Delhi on Sept 24.
As part of the honour, she received a cash prize of Rs 2,00,000, a certificate and a memento.
This is the second national award for Kanu Priya, following the Rashtriya Kalidas Samman in 2020 by Kalidas Academy, Ujjain.
Expressing happiness on receiving the award, Kanu Priya said: “As a teacher, I strive to blend my work as an artist with my academic responsibilities, thereby enriching the teaching of Art History with a practical perspective. I am truly grateful to the university for its support and encouragement.”
BHU vice-chancellor Prof Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi congratulated Kanu Priya on receiving this award.
