
Teacher kills Class 11 student over money dispute in Kanpur Dehat, ETEducation
Kanpur: A teacher of a private school allegedly murdered a Class 11 student by slitting his throat near the school campus in Kanpur Dehat.
The student was identified as 17-year-old Saurabh Pal. The incident took place in Jhinjhak, 50km away from Kanpur Dehat.
The teacher called the boy near the school on Sunday evening and attacked him. A profusely bleeding Saurabh rushed to a nearby fuel station for help. The fuel station staff informed his family and rushed him to a local health facility where doctors referred him to the district hospital. Saurabh died during treatment in the district hospital.
While being taken to the health facility, Saurabh told the fuel station staff that he was attacked by the teacher Anoop Singh following a dispute over money. The accused teacher is on the run.
Circe Officer Derapur, SK Verma, said a case has been registered against Anoop Singh based on a complaint filed by Saurabh’s family. The CO said initial probe has revealed there was a dispute between Anoop Singh and Saurabh Pal over some monetary transactions.
Saurabh Pal hailed from Rura. His mother lives alone in the village while his father died three years ago. His elder brother works in Delhi while his two elder sisters are married. The CO said two police teams have been formed to arrest Anoop.
Saurabh’s cousin Ajay said Anoop hails from Lucknow and teaches at a private school in Kanpur Dehat.
