What is Guru Dronacharya Fair?
Guru Dronacharya Mela is celebrated with great pomp every year. This fair is organized in the memory of the famous Guru Dronacharya of the Mahabharata period, who taught the Kauravas and Pandavas. The fair is organized in the Sri Drona Natya Shala complex and lasts for about 10 days. Cultural programs, competitions and religious events are organized here.
Schools were closed last year too
In previous years too, holidays were declared in schools and colleges due to Guru Dronacharya Mela. On 12 September 2023 also, the administration had ordered to keep all schools, colleges and universities closed. On 30 August 2024 also, all the schools in the district were kept closed. At that time, the district administration had also made it clear that no additional classes or practice sessions would be held in the schools.
