
Govt schools to celebrate June as ‘Parenting Month’, ET Education
Ranchi: In line with the United Nations’ declaration of June as ‘Parenting Month,’ a month-long series of activities will be conducted at govt schools to honour the role of parents in child development. Supported by UNICEF, the initiative focuses on strengthening parent-child relationships, promoting nutrition, education, and emotional well-being.The Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) has directed all districts to organize school-level programmes including drama, games, role plays, parenting drives, and discussions on inclusive parenting. Schools will implement a dedicated parenting activity calendar, with daily monitoring by BRPs and CRPs. Social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube will be used to spread awareness. Additionally, 29 parenting videos will be shared to promote positive parenting.
On 28 June, a parenting festival will be celebrated in all schools featuring parent felicitation, teacher-parent conferences, and interactive activities. Parents will be educated on nutrition, vaccination, and child care. The school education and literacy department will monitor activities closely, with a state-level review team ensuring effective implementation.
