Due to cold wave and low temperature, schools are closed in many districts of Uttar Pradesh. The concerned officials are keeping a close watch on the weather to decide about reopening of schools. The weather is still unfavorable in some areas, due to which students have been allowed to enjoy holidays till January 25, 2025.
As per the order of District Magistrate Chandra Vijay Singh, all schools up to class 5 in Ayodhya have been ordered to remain closed till January 25, 2025. School timings have been changed for students from class 6 to 12. Now students from classes 6 to 12 will have to attend classes from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. This order is for aided, recognized and all board schools.
UP, Mirzapur School Closed
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert of stormy rain and dense fog in Mirzapur on January 22 and 23, with cold expected to increase in the coming days. While schools in Mirzapur are set to reopen on January 22, 2025. Earlier, the district magistrate had ordered schools from nursery to class 8 to remain closed till January 21, 2025. However, teachers and staff were required to attend schools between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm to handle administrative work like DBT and U-DISE.
In other districts, schools have reopened, and students are returning to their classes as per the schedule provided by the school administration. Due to improvement in weather in some areas, District Magistrates have announced reopening of schools.
Low visibility in Delhi
Talking about today, Tuesday, January 21, a thick layer of fog covered Delhi in the morning, which reduced visibility and disrupted train services.
Schools have opened in many districts including Lucknow, Farrukhabad, Jhansi and Hathras. Holidays were declared till January 17 due to cold wave in these districts, children have started coming to most schools from January 20, but no new update has come yet.
