Patiala: Sixteen research faculty members from Punjabi University have secured a place in the list of the world’s top 2% scientists for 2025, released by Stanford University, USA.

In the list, 15 faculty members from Punjabi University are featured in the ‘Single Year’ category, based on data from 2024, while 11 have been included in the ‘Career-Long List‘ category. Most of these faculty members appear in both categories, with a total of 16 unique faculty members represented.

The ‘Single Year’ list is compiled based on research conducted in 2024. The selection is determined by the C-score (with and without self-citations) of the top 1,00,000 scientists worldwide. It is a matter of pride for Punjabi University that the number of faculty members included in this list has been consistently increasing over the past five years, said a university official.

In 2024, the ‘Single Year’ category included 14 faculty members from Punjabi University, while the ‘Career-Long List’ had 11 Punjabi University faculty members. The ‘Single Year’ category featured 14 faculty members in 2023, 11 in 2022, 12 in 2021, and 10 in 2020. Similarly, the ‘Career-Long List’ included eight faculty members in 2023, five in 2022, seven in 2021, and three in 2020.

The 15 faculty members listed in the ‘Single Year’ category this year include Ram Sarup Singh, Puneetpal, Yogita Bansal, Parveen Lata, Rajesh Kumar Goel, Ashok Kumar Tiwari, Nirmal Singh, Deepak Kumar, Amanpreet Kaur, Om Silakari, Narinder Pal Singh, Ashok Kumar Malik, Amteshwar Singh Jaggi, Vinod Kumar, and Ashok Kumar.

The ‘Career-Long List’ includes Chandan Singh, Amteshwar Singh Jaggi, Parveen Lata, Ashok Kumar Malik, Vinod Kumar, Ram Sarup Singh, SK Ashok Kumar, Om Silakari, Nirmal Singh, Amanpreet Kaur, and Ashok Kumar Tiwari.
